Ep. 43 - Nihon Matsuri, A History



Nihon Matsuri is a long running Japanese Festival in Utah. Pannon and VFire talk with some of the committee members who have been helping run it and talk about the festival's history and its connection to Cosplay!

Nihon Matsuri has been around for a very long time. It's initial purpose was to show the relevance of the Japanese American culture in Salt Lake City, Utah. It has succeeded and has created many amazing memories over the years. Check out their website below and their facebook page for more information and amazing photos!

Education is key at the festival. there are many activities, shows, dances, and history on display at the festival. The festival draws in a large crowd every year from many different backgrounds and places. It is a wonderful variety of people, fun, and culture.

Kimi (Unroyalty), VFire, and Garnet Runestar were invited to the judge the festival's cosplay contest this year. It is always a gem to be a part of!

Today's guests talk about loving your body with body positivity. Meet Turtlebunnies Cosplay and Unroyalty Cosplay (@un_royalty on instagram) as they talk about road blocks they have run into and how they are overcoming them.

Everyone should love their body, no matter what type of body you have. It can be difficult with society saying that beauty is one thing or another, but listen to these two cosplayers and what they have to say. Their advice and stories are inspiring!
